Eligibility
At least one must be met for the patient to be eligible for referral.
Red flags
Indicate urgent (Category 1) referral or emergency assessment.
Routine referral criteria
Determine Category 2 or 3 urgency.
Usually managed in primary care
  • Chalazion that have not been present for more than 3 months or have not been treated (i.e. hot compresses, lid hygiene or topical antibiotics)
